Manufacturers have been making one waterproof iPhone 6 case after another ever since the device debuted in the market. Mophie has decided to get into the competition with the Juice Pack H2Pro – its first waterproof battery case, which is going to be sold at $129.95.
What makes it stand out from the rest, however, is that it is not only waterproof. According to CNET, in addition to waterproof protection, the Juice Pack H2Pro from Mophie has a sleek and durable design that was purposely made to make the device “bounce back from accidental drops, dust, dirt, and other everyday conditions – keeping your phone safe in all situations.”
As The Verge has reported, the casing has been given a rating of IP-68, which means that it has been cleared to go underwater at a maximum depth of four feet for up to half an hour.
This special case sports a 2,750 mAh lithium ion polymer battery that can be recharged. Once attached to the iPhone 6, the report says that it can double the device’s battery life, giving it additional hours. According to the report, the Juice Pack H2Pro can give 10 more hours for web browsing, 50 more hours of music playback, 14 more hours of talk time, and 11 more hours of video playback.
This pass-through charging feature is actually a signature for Mophie. It allows the unit to continue to charge as long as it is encased with the Juice Pack H2Pro. Plus, users can also easily access the iPhone 6’s Touch ID button through a membrane, which is reportedly scratch-resistant, for fingerprint recognition.
Sadly, the casing, to date, is only available for the iPhone 6. There has been no confirmation as of yet on whether or not Mophie has a casing in the works for the iPhone 6 Plus.
